I should have paid for the entertainment Becky and Rich gave me. If I put out "photographer seeking amazing clients" in the classifieds the picture would look like this....
Where it all started.
Becky's ring is just so beautiful that I had to include "the ring shoot" I always take during an engagement session.
Becky and Rich, I can't wait for you wedding next year with your beautiful locations, shoes and you two:o)
Hughes and I are ready to go to the beach. I tried on my new big rimmed hat and swimsuit, Hughes had to get on his swimsuit with matching hat too. Trav had a good time watching his wife and son standing in the middle of the living room, swimsuits and hats, while the rain pored...
"We ready to go to the beach"
"Yes we are buddy, I need a vacation"
"I do to...I need my shovel and my trucks..."
Life has been tough for our little guy with everything going on with Jettie. Trav and I took Hughes out for some shopping and a haircut, happened to see Sam the groom from the last wedding getting his haircut as well, while Me-Maw and Pa-Paw watched Jettie. Giving Hughes our undivided attention. Unfortunately halfway through the haircut we got a call for Pa-Paw. Jettie was so sick, scaring Me-Maw to tears, they called and an ambulance which was already on its way to the hospital. Turns out Jettie is allergic to the soy in the formula we started supplementing when I'm away. She has gotten sick like this one other time but we just figured it was part of the breathing problems, but now that we have made the discovery it's good to know. She's fine but no soy for this girl, and do you know how many foods have soy in them?! I know she won't be having a five course meal anytime soon but wow! soy is in more than what you think.
So back to the vacation. I really need one, like I know anyone who is happy to say goodbye to the gloomy skies and hello to the sunshine. I will be leaving with Jettie on a Jet Plane after my wedding this Saturday for Florida to shoot a destination wedding. Trav, Hughes, Me-Maw and Pa-Paw will already be down there recovering from their long car ride...teehee. We are turning the opportunity into a small vacation. Lots of playing on the beach and eating yummy seafood. Email and internet will be limited at this time. Also, I have a wedding on one of the most popular days of the year for weddings, 06.07.08, along with two weddings the following week when I return. Yes, I know, 5 weddings in 2 weeks, CRAZY!! So, if you need anything please let me know before Friday and I will take care of you.
I have a lot to blog before leaving so here is a list of up coming posts:
-last hat made by Christian Dior
-unicycle
-wildflowers
-yellow quilt, yellow chalk
-6 pairs of shoes
-honeymoon destination I am insanely jealous of
To start it off right, Aunt Julie gave this hat at the shower, which happens to be the last hat made by Christian Dior. She has ins and I'm sure this baby boy will be stylin for some time...
Meg and Jim, your little boy is beautiful. And Jim, you are a great daddy in the works!! Hughes still talks about the muffin at "Jim's House";)
Today I am good as I can possibly be.
At the sonogram appointment when I was pregnant with her, we didn't want to know if we were having a girl or a boy, just excited to see our little baby we wished for. When the sonogram tech said I had low amniotic fluid and was having my OB refer us to a specialist, our hearts sank to our toes. Making the mistake of Googling "low amniotic fluid", two weeks and an appointment later everything looked good. We saw Jettie's heart pump the blood in and out of the chambers...even her brain. The remainder of the pregnancy I was monitored and drank lots of water, went cold turkey on my cup of coffee in the morning. She was born and put in Level 2 because her pulse oxygen was low, she had fluid on her lungs and she couldn't keep her temperature steady. For 36 hours we itched to hold and smell our sweet baby.
Jettie is still having problems breathing and never can get over a cold, bringing infections from ears to lungs. So, we went to a pulmonary pediatrician on Monday, thinking Jettie had asthma and leaving with a list of 4 "scenarios". Jettie was tested for cystic fibroses and thankfully the test came back negative today. From here we will work through the other 3 on the list while following the therapy treatments. I want to thank all of my wonderful clients, family and friends. Melissa, you're my girl and know exactly when I need some hummus and drink. Darbi, you told me just what I need to hear. Jennifer, thank you:o)
ALL of your prayers and patience is the best.
Amanda and Mark are such a sweet couple and compliment each other so well...laughing, kissing and being goofy together. And I love Amanda's hair, totally natural!! Starting off with my favorite...
Seriously! I am in love with Amanda's hair.
Mark's a tough guy but really, he is softy for Amanda's laugh.
See you two in August!! Can't wait:D
From first meeting Becki and Sam, then their engagement session, I knew that their wedding would be awesome because they are so into each other. They didn't disappoint.
Becki's HOT shoes...
and beautiful dress. This image is straight out of the camera and my favorite dress shot ever. I love how the dress just floats.
Becki doesn't wear all that makeup stuff and doesn't need to...she is such a beauty. But, a little eyeliner never hurt anyone;)
The hansome groom and gorgeous bride meet...
Favorite.
Can I have two favorites?
I love the look on the sister's face.
It was raining most of the day so as soon as the sun came out we made our way outside to get some quick shots...
Thanks goodness we did, can you believe this amazing light!?
Timeless.
Becki and Sam had a belly dancer during dinner which everyone got a kick out of.
I have never ever been to a wedding that has made me want to get on the dance floor and boogie more than Janelle and Kevin’s. And their friends and family!! Wow they are all just so full of life and love.
Janelle told me about her uncle Rudy being a celebrity makeup artist and this was her first time getting her makeup done by him, which she was super excited about. I checked out his site and the faces he touched, amazing! He says they really aren’t that pretty, he just makes them that way…teehee. When Janelle and I talked over wedding details, she let me know that Rudy was in a car accident last November and in a coma for 2 months. So to see him AND do beautiful Janelle’s make-up was an inspiration…
Check out the parents taking in their son and...
daughter walk down the aisle.
Married!!
My Favorite.
Rudy getting out on the dance floor. I love the expression on each and every persons face.
How sweet?!
Thank you to the talent Kelly Park for spending the day with me!
I first met Andrea during Laura, her cousin's wedding, last fall and I couldn't forget her with the gorgeous hair and beautiful smile...which will come in handy when she starts school for being a dentist after graduating this month. See what I mean...
Anita and Andrea, you two were a blast to hang out with during a beautiful sping afternoon and thanks for showing me a new spot in Forest Park. Best Wishes Andrea!!
