2008.06.29

There are many, many times I wonder what I was thinking when I agreed to live in the middle of nowhere. Like when my gas is at a forth of a tank or when I forget the milk or when I have a craving for deep fried something from a drive-thru. None of those exist out here but you know what does, what makes it all worth it?

Strawberry fields, among many other things...stars, sweet summer breezes, two trees with a hammock in-between. Back to the strawberry fields, about a mile down the road a lovely couple grow beets, peas, herbs, blackberries, tomatoes and lots of other good things. We were on a mission for strawberries for this visit because we had big plans for making jelly.

1

That's right folks, Pick-ur-own.

2

***disclaimer***not all the strawberries pictured were picked by the 3-year-old

3

The Goods, 3 pints of strawberries and one basal plant for the kitchen windowsill.

4

Jettie giving great-grandma smiles and Hughes taking off the stems to make the jelly.

5

All of our hard work paid off.

6

And my usual morning yogurt specially covered with the ruby bites.

When you hear the word "summertime" what do you think of? Maybe it's sprinklers or popscicles. If it is...enjoy:o)

This wedding is very important to me with lots of important guests. Why?! It's my best friend's little brother, that grew up, no longer the 3 year old annoying boy. A man who found his someone special. Thanks for making me a part of your day guys!!

There is always some amount of sacrific to get "the" shot...

flowergirl and ringbear-can we take your picture?

me-are you kidding!! of course but, only if I can take your picture, of you taking my picture

FG/RB-OK. Click.

me-OK, your turn kiddos, shimmy together, a little bit closer...closer...tha-dunk (my 70-200mm lens falls from my bag and meets the floor, UV filter breaks into a million pieces)

FG/RG-Oops

me-Oops

This was totally worth the sacrifice...

Thanks Rob for picking up my camera and getting a few pictures of the reception while I got down with the get down.

Coey, from day one, is one of those guys that blows me away with how kind and sweet he is. I've known him since he started working with Travis about 4 years ago when he came over for movie night. I made homemade popcorn and Coey still talks about how good it was. So sweet! When I found out Coey was engaged, I couldn't wait to meet this girl that got this great guy. Laura has such a kind heart and matches Coey so well. And I love how petite this girl is!!

Ben and Rachel always knew they wanted a beach wedding. And when I had the opportunity to photography a destination wedding I was floored. I couldn't wait to see the colors and the bare-feet. How much better does it get than this?! Enjoy the show!

Last night I threw a pity party for myself, no different from the past 4 from the nights before, starting in about midnight until about 2am. Asking myself why am I doing this? Am I a good mom? Thinking I need to put that elliptical trainer I had to have to work, I need to answer emails, I need to fold Jettie's little sleepers, I must go to sleep. I concluded that what I really need is some kind of office manager to help with all the things I don't like to do when it comes to my business. Focussing fully on giving people images from the beauty I see in them all the while having fun myself.

Untitled1

This morning I was still felling the effects from last night...errr this morning, I received this piece of sunshine which sits proudly on my desk, reminding me to have fun. Thank you for giving me the answer I needed. Thank you:o)

To my much loved couple,
Thank you for always supporting and encouraging me. Leaving words of praise in my inbox. Sending notes in the mail addressed to "Our Favorite Photographer". You trusted and believed in me when I needed it most. Reaffirming that this is what I must do just a year ago with no weddings under my belt and a few engagement sessions. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your love, the most important day of you lives together. There is a notch in my heart with you two in it.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Father's Day with your special guy!! We made cookies for ours and had a wonderful day.

1

Apparently I have to keep an eye on both my kids. The above picture, please, Hughes did everything he could to open the chocolate chips while Jettie was playing off that she did care. But wait...what is going on in this picture?

2

Jettie snagged the chocolate chips while Hughes was being completely adorable to divert me. Is this the start of the conspiring to come?

I have so many sessions to post and I know that if I don't do this now I never will. I must show you how beautiful Santa Rosa was. I shot this before the sunrise so the stars are still out.

5

We went on a sunset catermran trip which was amazing.

6

7

When the sun was setting we saw countless dolphins swimming all around the boat.

8

The beach is my favorite place in the world and after seeing the pictures taken during our evenings enjoying the sound side of the island I want to move my operation down there.

9

A little piece of heaven.

10

Hughes making sand angles with Me-Maw and Paw-Pa.

11

12

I don't know who adores eachother more? Me-Maw or Hughes and Jettie?

13

The most beautiful time is when the sun dips down making these amazing pictures Paw-Pa got.

The only question...16x24 or 20x30?

3

Because I have been so busy the past two weeks with 5 weddings in 15 days I want to give you a sneak peek at the wedding I shot while in Florida. Tomorrow I will post on the couple featured in my header and why they are so very special.

A wonderful first for a blog post, a boudoir session. I usually don't have the opportunity to post these popular sessions for personal reasons. It would be awful to have a blog-stalking groom stumble upon his wife's wedding gift or Aunt Velma finding her sweet niece in black lace while browsing but this is not a CPP bride:( so we're in the clear. I'm keeping the preview PG but can't help that this girl is smokin so if Victoria Secret catalogs bother you, check back in a week. If not, prepare for the hotness...

A few of these I just couldn't decide between color or B&W?! So you get both.

This hair should tell you everything about what's to come...

1

Vanessa orchestrated the day so well and this is one of my favorite getting ready brides. There was such a nice calmness and grace while getting ready.

2

And the spactacular details helped.

3

4

Favorite! I love how the white from Vanessa's dress and dress bag she stood on encircle Melissa putting her shoes on, perfection.

5

6

Scott's knees were knockin so he forgot Vanessa's card but he found the best replacement while looking for a piece of paper to write on. An invoice for the card along with the sweetest note on the back of the ticket.
