If I was stranded on an island, yes I've thought about this, and only had one lens it would be the 50mm 1.2. Now, I haven't conducted scientific research on the exact time this lens is on my camera but I would guess during a wedding day 50% and during a session 80% of the time. I like to stay free and light, this lens makes me feel that way vs the 85mm 1.2. This is another lens I love for the amazing skin tones and beautiful blur but the 85mm is a monster, far from free and light.  Before I saved my pretty pennies for the L series upgrade I started with the 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.8 both perfectly awesome lens for the price. You get more than you pay for with these babies, fast in low light, nice and sturdy.

Advice- put your money in lenses even if it is just one, rent before you buy and shoot all the time.

This marathon session was so much fun to edit, seeing how each amazing lady made it their own, how every session has a different mood. Thankfully I worked with 3 other ladies that rocked-Sabrina, Cindy and Beth, it couldn't have come together without you!!

Miss N had this dress which reminded her of Audrey Hepburn and I agree. So we did a spin on boudoir and took it outside, at night. N-you rock!!

Family and Engagement sessions-currently booking for spring and summer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you are wanting a select date please let me know as soon as you can so we can schedule the session. I am taking a limited number per month and don't want anyone missing out. June and September are booked.

Weddings-I have an amazing group of weddings commissioned this year and will be closing my books for 2009 at the end of this month. Thank you 2009 couples:D

Boudoir sessions-I will post a few of my favorite next week from the group of amazing ladies I worked with a few weekends ago for our marathon session which is the best way to set these sessions up...hair, makeup, styling, in a gorgeous St. Louis loft. Depending on the interest, I will have another Boudoir Marathon session on a weekend in July so email me if you would like more information or to get on the list!

A Day with Clary-emails have landed in my inbox regarding offering a workshop or a day of mentoring. As flattering as that truly is, I don't see myself in front of a large group of people talking, much less putting a price on something like that. What I will be doing is four hours with me at my studio or a location of your choice talking about anything you want to or we can shot or go over post-processing...we will customize the time for the best experience for you. This will be open to anyone, parents or photographers just starting off in the business. The only request is coffee and food:o) More details on the contest will hit the blog by the end of this month.

It started innocently enough, like all names...Travy Trav, Swikle Pickle, Sugar-lump, Hughesermanna, two weeks after Jettie welcomed herself in the world she became Jettie Pie because I could just eat her up and she is so darn sweet, like beyond sweet. Everyone who is anyone calls her Jettie Pie, addresses cards Jettie Pie and wants to get her attention by calling "Jettie Pie"! When party time came around it wasn't difficult to come up with a theme, not as good as Hughes' idea for his 2nd birthday or this birthday party which you will see for Jettie Pie's 2nd (sorry Maya), but nevertheless it was just right for Jettie Pie.

SEE!? I can hardly stand it!

Stephanie emailed me two months ago about Megan and Brian's wedding. I fell in love instantly with the vision...Thursday evening winter wedding, candlelit ceremony followed by a beautiful dinner for a table full of guests. This really says everything about Megan and Brain's love for each other and their family. 

I didn't have the chance to meet the couple before their big day so when I showed up and saw this face I knew it would be all sorts of fun and fabulousness!
